YOUR CHURCH HOME

MEMBERSHIP AT FENTON PARK BIBLE CHURCH

Been part of things at FPBC for a while now? If you’re getting to know people, settling in, and starting to wonder if this could be your new church home, we’d love to take the next step with you.

Why Membership Matters

The local church sits at the very centre of God's plan. It's the family of God and the body of Christ, where He gives leaders to watch over your soul and where you use your gifts to build others up. The Christian life was never meant to be lived alone, and there's real joy in being all in with a church family who knows you, cares for you, and grows alongside you.

What We Mean By Membership

For us, membership is simply the point where being part of FPBC becomes mutual and recognised. You've decided this is your church home, and we've welcomed you as part of the family, committing to love you, care for you, and walk with you.

So it's a simple conversation, not a daunting ceremony. There’s no course to take or vows to recite in front of everyone, just a warm welcome. Toward the end of a Sunday service, we'll invite you to stand where you're sitting so we can introduce you and the church can put a face to your name.

And the door is wide. Our one heartfelt requirement is a genuine trust in Jesus Christ. As we like to say, if God will welcome you into heaven, we will welcome you into membership.

Why We Care About Membership

This isn't just our preference, it's drawn from Scripture. We believe that the New Testament requires Christians to have a regular and active commitment between the local church and the individual. This is consistent with the pattern of the early church, and is for the purpose of being equipped for the work of ministry, mutual edification, and becoming more like Christ.

Some key passages on this topic include: Matthew 18:17; Acts 2:41-42; 18:27; 1 Corinthians 5:2, 5, 7, 12-13; 11:18; Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Thessalonians 4:12; 5:12-13; Hebrews 10:25; 13:7, 17, 24; James 5:14
